WHAT EXACTLY IS SMART PRIVACY GLASS & SMART PRIVACY WINDOW FILM?

Our Smart Privacy glass is simply a glass that has a special film in it that changes from clear to private when you activate it.

Our Smart Privacy Window Film is the same as the smart glass but its simply an adhesive film that you stick onto your existing glass.

HOW IS YOUR SMART GLASS OR SMART WINDOW FILM INSTALLED?

Our Smart Privacy Glass has wires attached to it and installed into frames same as normal glass. The wires need to feed back to our power transformer and then into your power supply… thats it!

The Smart Window Film is applied to your existing glass just like a window film, The Smart Window Film also has wires attached that need to feed back to our power transformer and then into your power supply.

HOW DO YOU CLEAN YOUR PRODUCTS?

Our products should be cleaned with a soft cloth, and gentle cleanser.

Avoid harsh chemicals, and the use of sharp instruments. Make certain to remove all liquids from all edges that may have collected during the cleaning process.

DOES YOUR TECHNOLOGY BLACK OUT LIGHT? 

No it isn't black out it's a privacy glass that changes from clear to translucent.

DOES YOUR SMART GLASS OR SMART FILM BLOCK HEAT OR GLARE?

WHAT ELECTRICS ARE NEEDED FOR YOUR SMART PRIVACY GLASS & SMART WINDOW FILM?

We provide a power transformer which then simply connects into your 13 amp fused spur. 

 

CAN YOU SEE THROUGH THE SMART PRIVACY GLASS & SMART PRIVACY WINDOW FILM IF YOU STAND UP CLOSE?

No. It is impossible to see through at any distance it's a complete barrier

CAN THE SMART PRIVACY GLASS BE FRAMELESS? 

Two sides of the glass need to be supported & the other two can be frameless with polished edges

 

HOW DO YOU SWITCH THE TECHNOLOGY ON & OFF?

There are numerous options for controlling our smart technology….

1/ We provide a white wireless remote with a wall magnet holder.

2/ We can provide a wireless or hardwired wall switch with a Silver, Black or White surround.

3/ If you connect the smart glass or film into a ‘Smart Plug’ you can voice activate the glass using Alexa etc.
 

CAN THE SMART PRIVACY GLASS & SMART PRIVACY WINDOW FILM GET WET? 

Our Laminated Smart Glass & External Double Glazed Electric Glass can, but not the edges of the switchable window film.

 

WHAT SOUND PROTECTION DOES THE SMART PRIVACY GLASS OFFER? 

Approx 36 - 38 dB

 

DOES THE SMART PRIVACY GLASS & SMART PRIVACY WINDOW FILM OFFER PROTECTION FROM HARMFUL UV RAYS? 

Yes. It protects you constantly on or off from 99.5% of harmful UV Rays

 

CAN YOU PROVIDE FRAMES IF NEEDED? 

We can manufacture our slimline Powder Coated aluminium channels for you if we are installing.
 

CAN YOU PROVIDE HINGES AND HANDLES FOR DOORS? 

We can usually source what you need but our surveyor will need to meet you on site to go over what you need. 

 

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE SMART PRIVACY GLASS & SMART PRIVACY WINDOW FILM?

The Smart Privacy Glass we manufacture for you which either incorporates the film inside (Double Glazed or Laminated Glass) or the film applied to the surface (Toughened Glass).

The Smart Privacy Window film is the same film used with the glass but simply as a self adhesive film ready to apply to your glass. 

 

CAN IT BE IN A CERTAIN SHAPE & HAVE HOLES? 

Yes we can manufacture it to most shapes for you. It can also have holes in the Smart Glass & Smart window film 
 

CAN I PROJECT MOVIES & IMAGES INTO THE SMART PRIVACY GLASS & SMART PRIVACY WINDOW FILM? 

Yes. When the Smart Privacy glass & Smart Window Film is in the frosted stated (Private) it is excellent for Rear image/movie projection from Projectors. 

 

CAN YOU SHIP ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD?

Yes almost anywhere. 

 

CAN THE SMART PRIVACY GLASS OR SMART PRIVACY WINDOW FILM HAVE A DIMMER FUNCTION?

Our Wireless wall switches and remote controls do not have this option although clients do have specialist companies connect our Smart Glass & Smart Window Film to special systems for this to happen. 
 

WHAT IS THE LIFESPAN OF YOUR TECHNOLOGY? 

We guarantee for 5 years although it is tested for 25 years. 
 

CAN THE SMART PRIVACY WINDOW FILM BE TAKEN DOWN IF WE NO LONGER NEED IT?

Yes it can be removed but it will not be able to be used again as dismantling will damage the film. 
 

WHAT ARE THE LEAD TIMES?

3 weeks from order and payment for the Smart Window Film and 4 weeks for the Smart Privacy Glass. 
 

CAN THE SMART PRIVACY WINDOW FILM GET WET OR BE SCRATCHED? 

Yes it can be scratched so it needs to be treated with care basically as you would care for your TV screen. As long as water doesn’t accumulate in the edges of the smart window film it will be ok. 
 

CAN THE SMART PRIVACY GLASS BE IN A COLOUR? 

Yes we can add a tint to the glass by adding a tinted film within the glass but the tint will always be visible even when the glass is clear. 
 

WHAT IS THE LARGEST & SMALLEST SIZES OF YOUR TECHNOLOGY YOU CAN

OFFER? 

Largest pane is 1800mm wide x 5000mm high for the Smart Privacy Glass and 1500mm wide x 5000mm high for the Smart Window Film.

Smallest is 150mm wide x 150mm high for both.

 
Of course Laminated and Toughened Smart Privacy Glass can be joint with a clear silicone joint for much larger sizes. Smart Window Film can also be joined side by side for much larger sizes. 

 

DO YOU ONLY INSTALL IN LONDON OR WILL YOU TRAVEL FURTHER? 

We can install anywhere in the UK. 

 

CAN YOU WORK NIGHTS AND WEEKENDS IF REQUIRED?  

Yes. Our engineers will work nights and weekends although we do charge a premium.
